The IBS has bestowed the award of Honorary Life Member since 1964. In addition to the honor, recipients receive all the rights and privileges of a Regular Member for life.
Representative Council members, Executive Board members, and Regional/Network Presidents may submit nominations of regular members. Each nominee must be sponsored by five (5) or more members, including at least two from outside the candidate’s Region. A statement of support of the nomination should be submitted by each sponsor.
Aim: To honor the contributions of IBS members to the development of biometry in the developing world.
Prize: Recognition Award and complimentary IBS membership for the next calendar year (which may be donated to a member of an economically developing nation).
Eligibility: Any IBS member who has made or is making significant contributions to the development of biometry in the developing world is eligible to be nominated.
